Star Dust 6 October 1939 Carnegie Hall
Guitar Solo
|
C&A:
Just a month and a half after hitting the national scene, Charlie Christian
was on stage at Carnegie Hall playing two sextet favorites. One tune was his
own composition, Flying Home; the other, Star Dust, could also be considered
his own composition. It was the same “written” rendition that Charles put together based on Hoagy
Carmichael’s chord changes and that he invariably played with the sextet. As always,
it’s perfectly executed – with only slight changes in the details.
