C&A:

Charlie Christian’s solo on his first live recording of Honeysuckle Rose is really a very good and intriguing one but it’s hard to top the solo on the previous studio recording with the full orchestra and, of course, the extraordinary solos at Minton’s (usually titled Up on Teddy’s Hill).

  LISTEN   Guitar Solo:

This version had never been released until it surfaced recently on the internet along with some other items from the immense Bill Savory collection.  There are still quite a few recordings of Charles with the sextet that remain unreleased by the Savory and Goodman estates.
